Hey, you got an Essential Phone! Welcome to the Essential community. Here’s how to transfer your data from an iPhone to your new PH-1.

When you switch, you can use Google Drive on your iPhone to backup Contacts, Calendars, Photos, and Videos. The apps from your iPhone won’t transfer over. But you can redownload many of your favorite apps from the Google Play Store on your device. And it’s possible to retrieve most, or all, of the data from apps you used every day on your iPhone on your Essential Phone.

If you used:

  • Apps where your information is also accessible from the web—like Facebook, Instagram, Evernote, and more.
  • Cross-platform apps for things like ringtones and wallpapers that are also available on the Google Play Store.
  • Google apps on your iPhone—such as Allo, Duo, YouTube, Google Maps, and more—all your information will appear once you set up your Essential Phone.

And if you paid for an app on your iPhone, it might be possible to get it on your Essential Phone without having to buy it, again. Reach out to the app’s developer for help.
